lunch box

Today its carrot curry. There was a time when i  used to think twice before i  buy carrots or beans or beets. Reason is it would take lot of time grating or cutting them. Thank god i bought this little machine(electric chopper). Grating carrots is just couple of minutes job.


Carrot & peas curry

Carrots  1.5 lb grated finely
green peas   1 cup (if you don't have handy ,skip this)
Green chillies - 2 or 3 chopped
Grated coconut - 2-3 tsp ( i'm out of stock ,so not added this)



Seasoning
Mustered seeds - 1tsp
Cumin seeds - 1tsp
red chilles - 2or 3
urad dal -1 tsp
chana dal-2tsp
hing a pinch
turmeric -1/4 tsp

garnishing:

curry leaves
cilantro


Procedure:
heat 2 tsp of oil in a skillet
add all the seasoning ingredients except hing.
when they start spluttering add hing &turmeric
now add green chilles ,carrots green peas and grated coconut
add salt,
cook in a medium flame for 5-10 mins covering this with a lid.
stir occasionally.

add garnishing once done.

Serve with hot rice or roti
