Yummy MoongDal Soup

Soups are highly refreshing and adds much importance to healthy diet.Well I have been thinking a lot of times to try Lentil soup, searched many kinds of it made .If you look on to search there are lot more you see about this Lentil soup with many confusing ingredients.Here is one easy one I tried with Moongdal and very yummy same time healthy ,high protein and very useful if you wanna feed your kids.
You can also try with Chennadal if you like little sweetish taste to your soup.

MoongDal Lentil Soup

Ingredients:
Makes 2 bowls
  • Moong Dhal - 1/4 cup
  • Flat Beans-5-8
  • Tomato - 1
  • Turmeric powder - a pinch
  • Chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Pepper powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt - to taste
  • Lemon juice - 1/2 tsp(?optional)-I havent added
Flavor:
  • Cloves -2-4
  • Cinnamon - 1/4 inch piece
  • Ginger Garlic Paste
  • Bay leaf-1/2
  • Butter
  • Chilly sauce(optional)

METHOD:

  1. Soak moong dhal for 15mins, drain water and keep aside.

  2. Heat oil in a pressure cooker, add Firstly add Turmeric Powder, Ginger Garlic paste,cloves,Bayleaf, Cinnamon. let it fry for a min .

  3. Then add Flat Beans, tomatoes, saute until tomatoes and beans flavor up. Now add soaked Moong dal and fry for Minute.Add Butter and 3-4 cups water,salt and chilly powder based on your spice level.
  4. Pressure cook for 3-4 whistles ,and adjust the thickness accordingly by adding water,you can discard bay leaf and cloves if you don't need them, but trust me it adds on much flavor if you leave them like that too.

  5. Now add Pepper powder/chilly sauce/lemon juice accordingly and garnish with  finely chopped fried coriander leaves.
