Black Chenna Besan curry

Black chenna can get many variations when one try to it coking gravy's, adding it to any vegetables .This is one very simple delicious version of black chenna besan combination gravy which goes very well with rotis, pulka,chapathi's



Black Chenna besan curry

Here is the simple and easy recipe of black chenna and besan curry.


Ingredients:
  1. Kala chenna-1 cup
  2. besan/gram flour-1/2 cup
  3. turmeric powdee- 1tbsp
  4. coriander jeera powder- 1tbsp
  5. garam masala-1tbsp(optional)
  6. ginger garlic paste-2 tbsp
  7. coriander leaves-bunch
  8. hing powder-a pinch
  9. jaggery-1/4 cup
  10. salt-as needed
  11. water-1/2 cup
  12. Mustard seeds-1tbsp
  13. oil-2tbsp

Method:
  •  Soak  black chenna in water overnight/about 8 hrs.
  • Pressure cook chenna for 3/4 whistles and keep it aside by draining off water.
  • Now in a bowl, add 1/2 cup of besan,and alos all these ingredients-coriander  cumin powder,turmeric powder, hing, garam masala and add 1/4 cup of water and mix it properly.
  •  Heat oil in a pan, add ginger garlic paste, mustard seeds, coriander leaves, red chilies .once it gets translucent add that besan paste  and cooked black chenna and mix it well.
  • Finally add grated jaggery, needed salt and cook for about few minutes .You can add water accordingly to adjust your choice of thickness.
