Flat beans Tomato dry curry

Flat Beans has always quick and easy to cook curry when you are juggling with time.There are different varieties one can try with this vegetable.Here I am sharing very quick and easy recipe that goes well with rotis and rice too.


  1. Flat beans
  2. Tomatoes-1/2
  3. green chilies-2-3
  4. red chilies-1-2
  5. Mustard seeds
  6. Cumin seeds
  7. Coriander powder-1 tbsp
  8. Cumin/Jeera Powder-1 tbsp
  9. Turmeric-1/2 tbsp
  10. salt-1 tbsp
  11. red chilly powder-1 tbsp
  12. ginger garlic paste- 1tbsp


  • Cut the finely washed flat beans and pressure cook for 2/3 whistles
  • Take oil in pan and add  turmeric,mustard  seeds, cumin seeds, red chillies, curry leaves and coriander leaves and let them crackle.
  • just cut tomatoes into big chunks,add green chillies, ginger, garlic and grind them in mixer grinder. don't make it into fine paste.
  • Now add this to the pan and fry them for about few minutes.
  • Drain off the water from cooked flat beans and add this to the contents into the frying pan, add salt, coriander and cumin powder and cook for about 5-10 minutes
